Sam my heart goes out to you. It's so frustrating, isn't it? I'm also going through a tough time with my 2 1/2 year old and his daycare - last week he went everyday without protest - this morning, 4 tantrums before we even got out the door! He's not throwing up, but I really did think that he was going to love daycare from now on... The one thing that parenting has taught me is that when you think you've got it all figured out, the kid changes the rules! :-)
What can I say? Lavish attention on Katy when she's being good and hug her a lot. At meal times, if she doesn't want to eat, just let her do whatever away from the table. When she's ready to come to the table, don't make a big fuss about it - just let her come and eat or drink whatever. And when she's ready to leave the table, just let her go. That means she's done. Just love her lots and take some time out for yourself as well. Go for a nice walk, or a massage, or a hair appointment, without Katy and try to lose yourself in the pampering. Thoughts and prayers with you.
