As an ex navy rescue swimmer/diver the chances of survival are not
good as other people have cited this often occurs in foul weather.
>From the computer security side - recently a usb dongle which
attaches to your key chain has been developed which locks the screen
when you walk away from the computer. If your autopilot system is
integrated with a computer it would not be hard to configure a
similar dongle to mark the gps position and disable the autopilot
were you to fall overboard. You heard it here first (I hope)... time
to contact tacktick and start the patent process. :) I include my
