Two things, Do you have the jumper from ERR?RES to encoder on the drive? How did you route your encoder cables in relation to the motor leads? If they are in the same seal-tite enclosure etc. they will cross talk and fault the drive. The motor leads and encoder leads are like long antennas. Even if the encoder leads are sheilded it doesnt matter they have to be seperated. Encoder + and - must be sheilded from the encoder A and B channels as well. A ground from the machine control to machine also. Just a few things to check. Ron

Here is the mill http://www.ameritechcnc.com/exact%20jr%20series.htm I asked them what servos they use, and they said 16 ft lbs cleveland servos. Direct drive. I got some off of ebay. I bought these motors thinking they would be sufficient http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ViewItem&category=42895&item=3849879999&rd=1 . I got everything hooked up, I have the accel/velocity turned way down. They fault almost immediately. Is there something I am doing wrong, or these motors just not up the the job at hand?
