Fair point Roger but I did say Narrowboat and yes I have seen such an engine in a narrowboat. It occured to me to work out the following 75 HP divided by the tonnage makes it 2.77 HP per ton of boat......in my case I have 4.8 HP per ton.interesting By the way I am having 2nd thoughts on my max engine revs pehaps it is maximum of 1,600 rpm 2 to 1 reduction giving a shaft speed of 800 rpm.I can only check when I get back to the UK. Hence the large prop.size.

Chris.KP Quite simple Chris, my 75hp engine and 9hp bow thruster *aren't fitted in a narrow boat at all*. They're fitted in a 27 ton, 15m x 4.1m, wide beam boat that I have in France.
