It occured to me to work out the following 75 HP divided by the tonnage makes it 2.77 HP per ton of boat......in my case I have 4.8 HP per ton.interesting By the way I am having 2nd thoughts on my max engine revs pehaps it is maximum of 1,600 rpm 2 to 1 reduction giving a shaft speed of 800 rpm.I can only check when I get back to the UK. Hence the large prop.size.
OK, but the only reason I took the bait was your reference to a 9hp bow thruster. To my knowledge the only posting referring to 9hp was mine about Brunel (wide beam) in reply to Neil's discussion about kit for his proposed wide beam ;-) You may be right about your revs as 3200 is getting up into modern automotive revs, an older marine unit would be unlikely to reach these dizzy heights. At least it's too hot to sleep in Spain (?), it's winter duvets here in the UK....Brrrr ;-) Roger ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Yahoo!
