Date - 7 Oct 06 Day - Saturday Start - Napton Bridge Inn 0845 End - Napton Top Lock
Last night as planed we ate in The Bridge Inn. One of the beers on was Black Sheep and we both had Buffalo Pie as our main course. This was an individual pie cooked in a pie dish with a pastry top attached to it. Not a microwaved soggy thing or meat in a bowl with a piece of puff pastry floating on the top. Since we were there a week ago the tables have been moved about and it seamed roomier. We saw the full harvest moon rise but it was quickly obliterated by clouds, just peeping out every now and then. However later in the night the skys cleared and we could have easily motored on in the moon light with no need of torches at the locks. We woke this morning to the sound of the Black Prince boat behind us running their engine and it wasn't long before boats started passing, not the BP, I think he just wanted hot water of electricity. We set off about quarter to nine expecting to find a queue at the bottom locks, well the moorings outside the Bridge had been full last night and several boats passed well after 6 so I expect they moored at the Folly. However when we arrived at the locks, no boats, only one coming down. We didn't turn a single lock all the way up and it didn't rain, it was windy and a bit cool, but no rain. We pulled into our mooring and I then set about doing an oil change which is 30 hours overdue. As we came up the flight we met Ken and Claudia who invited us to join them and Ann and Ian at the Blue Lias on Sunday night, so tomorrow we will go back down the flight and join them for the night, returning first thin Monday morning, then we must go home. -- Brian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Visit this site and help save our waterways http://www.savethewaterways.org.uk/ Yahoo!
