Hmm not sure why! None of the lock working routines discussed need be
dangerous used correctly.

is important to anyone using the waterways. It certainly helps to avoid
some of the occurences which can lead to less experienced boaters and/or
canaltimers getting a (not always deserved) reputation for lack of
courtesy and consideration.
