It was a useful meeting, though we could only attend for the first
2.3/4 hours, which was longer than about 50% of the original gathering!

Steve Davies opened the batting with a heartfelt, reasoned and concise
statement. Ian Jarvis and Eugene put their position very clearly.

There should indeed be some improved dialogue concerning operations on
the Severn/G&S under the new manning regime for the structures and we
must be thankful for that. But the rest of it was often blurred and I
fear for the effectiveness of similar SOW events up and down the
country.

I have re-read my original posting and feel it sums up my feelings,
except I would like to vary the wording in one respect

2) The waterways are principally for RECREATION AND navigation and not
a place to
live. The very existence of the recently penned term "apartment boat"
should be subjected to the Exocet treatment and such "craft" should be
sold only to people holding an official residential mooring

Obviously the second bit is my own particular added rant, and I
realise, is not helpful in bringing cohesion to the current battle.
