They certainly sell off the 14 day moorings, just west of the town
centre, here in Skipton to over-wintering boats. One patch of 14 day
moorings is now virtually exclusively long-term moorings for people
over-wintering until next March. IIRC, from one such boater that we
have spoken to, it is about £600 ish for the privilege.

It happens all over the system, you turn up 14 days before before the 
allotted date, I think it's 1 October, have your 14 days visitor mooring and 
then go and pay BW. It happens in the Braunston area and Crick opposite the 
marina
