Straight £4-£8 day usually on the Thames often with the first day free. I spent some time talking to the chap that looks after all moorings in Henley. He pays the owners (Henley Regatta) a fixed amount each year and it is down to him how efficiently he collects. I notice that he has gone from using a bike to a range-rover and dinghy with outboard so large is territory. In Windsor (Eton-side) the collector is employed by the College and does other duties as well. Paddington Basin gives you 7 free days and then charges something like £25/day therefater. Do I recall seeing a similar arrangement in Walsall central? >I wonder if it would be economic for BW to put in resources > (i.e. parking attendants) specifically to manage this process. > I think it could be done on a part-time basis. Same person would also look out for out-of-date boat licences (and, if I had my way, selling cycle and angling permits at £5/pa a time). > Sounds like a more reasonable way to raise money than the other ideas > they've come up with recently.. > -- Will Chapman Save Our Waterways www.SaveOurWaterways.org.uk --- avast!
