In April weve booked a boat from Alvechurch at Hilperton Marina with the intention of going all the way West and then perhaps a liitle East. My 92 year old father will be coming with us (subject to health not deteriorating) and this gives rise to one or two questions which I wonder if anyone on this list may be able to help with.
We will need a wheelchair to use if he is ever to go much further than 100 yards from the boat and we dont have room to take one with us in the car and it will be a Saturday afternoon arrival when the local Red Cross is likely to be closed. We have found a hire centre that can help but at £50+ for hire and delivery it seems a little steep. Anyone from the Hilperton, Trowbridge areas got any ideas? We may spend a night or two in Bristol, does anyone know if the dock authorities are wheelchair friendly (we do have a blue badge) are moorings easy to get on and off and would the badge help us get more central?
