Crick needs a week as you want to reach Market Harborough and visit Welford. We
like it but we go slow on the scenic top pound. Most seem to just want to get
it over so they belt. The tunnels are nice - the smallest 880yard one has bats
that have been know to fly about if annoyed by smoky upheading exhausts.

The Ashby is very pretty but also shallow. I think which way you go
will depend on your (or your crew's) view of locks. Personally I
prefer routes that have a fair number to break up the day and tend to
view a day that has no locks as less desirable but there are other
views.
