The only way moorers would not inconvenience certain boaters would be to get
their boats craned out of the canal each night.

It always amazes us how many of the older boaters - who should know better -
have to show their manhood by gripping their (speed) knobs and ploughing down
the cut in a don't you dare comment pose.

Whatever experts say no matter how you moor these clowns will bash you about.

I always love the tales like those told to me by two fellow boaters who
suffered pans of hot stuff flying off the stove from the passing fools wash and
who dived out and received a mouthful of abuse. In each case, knowing the bloke
had to stop for locks etc they strolled up the towpath and when the bugger
came to the lock they stepped aboard his boat and punched his lights out!

If he had done that, you would be right to criticise him. If he had
said speed should never be enough to create a breaking wash, you
wouldn't.

Common courtesy says "Don't Moor In A Manner That Inconveniences
Passing Boat Traffic". A moorer who insists that traffic move slower
when it goes by is causing an inconvenience. The "Slow Down" crowd
on moored craft is not being misunderstood, it is being seen as
inconsiderate and unreasonable.
