I think you mean a disposable nappy, not a nappy liner? In my 
experience, the cheaper the better - the fancy ones have semi-perm 
membranes that block take up of the oil, whereas your cheapo "Basics' 
or whatever are essentially cotton wool in a cloth bag.

I keep one in the stern bilge all the time, to absorb drips from the 
stern tube, and deploy others at oil change time to catch the dribbles 
from filter mounts and the like. GBP2.50 for 20, so not a mega expense!
