Shouldn't the BW rules mean no generators after 7-30pm at marked moorings?

As for the road the ABP meat lorries used to be supplimented by some large
(Tanker?) lorries that passed in the wee small hours. Better to moor at the top
of Aston locks and walk to the pub or stay at one of the three Maesbury
moorings and use the pub/resturant there. Next time maybe.

Date - 28/08/08
Day - Thursday
Start - 0745
End - 1730 Queens head

We started a bit earlier this morning as we were booked to go down the
Montgomery Canal between 12 and 2 pm. It wasn't long before we started
meeting hire boats coming towards us. The busiest section was through
Ellesmere with one bank lined with moored boats and on the opposite bank
the water point and BW moored boats, also the boats coming towards us
had the water flow behind them which didn't help. I don't think I have
ever seen the canal so busy. We arrived at Franklin Locks at 11am and a
boat was just going down to the Montgomery canal, Colin had a lot of
boats booked in so started early. We followed them down and stopped at
the water point to fill the tank, it was surprising how windy it was
which made backing into the arm interesting.
There has still been no action in replacing the damaged memorial stone
to Graham Palmer. I and many others donated towards this 3 IWA Festivals
ago. It would have been nice if it had been in place for the rally next
week.
The Mont could defiantly due with a drop of attention to the first phase
of restoration, a bit of scrub bashing wouldn't go amiss as in places
its over 12 feet tall between the towing path and the canal, veg
pledge, what veg pledge?
We stopped briefly at Queens Head to book a table for this evening and
then carried on to the end of navigation winding at 4pm. On our way back
to Queens Head we met 6 boats heading down to the end.
As I sit and write this the canoe club is going full blast with lots of
splashing and shouting and generally enjoying themselves. We are moored
right at the end of the moorings away from the A5 but next to the lane
which is so busy with very fast traffic its untrue. I seems there is a
meat factory on the industrial estate at the end of the lane which is
the cause of all the lorries and the chap on the boat behind us has had a
little noisy generator running ever since he arrived. The generator went
off at 7-30 when he went to the pub to eat. When we came back from our
meal in the pub all was quiet, but it didn't last and we laid in bed
listening to his noisy generator sitting on the towing path buzzing away
until we fell asleep.
