Several reasons. I wanted to meet a number of people involved in charitable groups that I heard would be at the Ricky Festival. I also wanted to witness first hand a waterways festival that is highly rated by many and, finally, I realised I could also visit the Wendover Festival on the way back where I had heard the beer wasn't bad and available in copious quantities.
