We got attacked by somebug or other.
It kept duplicating emails in and was generally not interested in
being defeated by Norton.

We got a man in who suggested Ad Aware.

http://www.adware-2009.com/v2/

We ran this and hey presto all was back to normal.
It is free and worth a try .

IE and OE are both just fine now.
