I once had to do 15 miles through 1" to 2" ice with total paint loss but no metal damage. Now we are stuck in dry dock with the MAIN Llangollen outside frozen (as BW shut the canal to work on New Marton locks and so reduced the flow I am told. I hope the ice goes soon as the boat has been blacked in the dock!
