Since most GRPs are outboard powered, I would doubt if they would be able to 
start anyway - the waterpump is only just below the water level - since they 
are often 6 rubber blades, one might rip them all off.  I managed to chop 
bits off all 6 blades when a small stone got in mine years ago.  Would only 
cool on 3/4 throttle or more....  15HP on 18ft cruiser - 1/4 throttle was 
5mph, 3/4 was.... a bit quicker...  8-)
