Apparently there were no notices put up for the original application, so it 
would help to have a new flood of objections by letter (or online - 
http://www.publicaccess.manchester.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=KIG6C3BC02600

pointing out how unsafe it is for boaters to get off the front of a boat to 
work a lock (lock 86). If anyone's passing down in a boat and could video how 
the step block is used to gain access, that might help, as the council's case 
officer doesn't seem to understand the problem, and says BW says it's OK!
