Hi All We're moored at the top of Bingley 5 Rise, on our way towards Skipton and have just heard that one of the gates at Newlay Locks has broken and will take 4 days to repair . A BW chappie was alerting boaters that are heading that way. I have looked online but there are no stoppages showing.
We came up from Leeds just over a week ago and hit an abandoned cooker as we were approaching Forge Locks. We reported it to BW and they sent someone out to remove it. We breasted up with a boat we were sharing the locks with and they kindly towed us to Fallwood Marina (Bridge 221) where I found that it had shattered the prop shaft coupling. The people there were most helpful and after locating a new coupling, getting it machined and fitted, we were on our way 5 days later.
