That's an interesting question. Though I never considered the  
relevance of the tax year but when filling up the boat, and I've only  
done it twice since the new system, I have pondered

1) Am I replacing the diesel I have used and what might has been the  
consumption split

2) Am I deciding on the likely split for the new tank

I think I decided on the latter though that puts me in the position of  
possibly being unable to use the heating if my prediction turns out to  
be incorrect, or do I make an adjustment at the next fill.

Obviously I keep highly detailed records and monitor the whole process  
very carefully.
