We are still chugging along the K&A. Fri 13 Aug Devizes - above Lock 44 to above Lock 50 0 miles; 7 flg - 6 locks; Start 10:45; Moored up at 12:10 After yesterday's mega-lock day our ambition was confined to getting a decent space on the Devizes 72hr VMs before the rain came - mission accomplished. We've not yet identified the cause of the domestic power loss - the batteries now have taken a bit of a charge. My chief suspects are the split charge relay - which seemed to be a bit loose in its case - and the little 150w inverter with which we used to charge various devices but which is now unaccountably dead. Can't find another inverter for love nor money in Devizes - the chandlery near the Wharf has vanished [now sells dance clothing] and the one at the marina has been downsized as the previous operator has just left, taking most of his stock with him. So we are dependent on the kindness of strangers - or at least fellow boaters, for our modest mains consumption. Tonight possibly jazz at The Bear and some refreshment.
