We are still chugging along the K&A. Sun 15 Aug Moored at The Barge Inn, Honey St 7 mi, 5 fl - 0 locks but 2 swing bridges Start 09:40, moored up at 15:55 First task today was to top up the water tank then make a rendezvous with friends from home at Horton Bridge by 11:15. Thanks to the rather slow tap on Devizes Wharf we only just made it. Then with a merry crew of 7 on board we ambled along to pull up for lunch on the All Cannings VMs at 13:30. Spoke there to Bob, the skipper of a boat called nb Rodbaston, who is a lurker on this list. i tried to persuade him to join in. We left there at 15:15 to meet up with the visitor who'd had to bike it back to Horton Bridge to collect their car and then drive to Honey St. Only then did we see Sue and Vic on nb No Problem at the other end of the moorings - they of the long-running and well illustrated blog. Only time to holler 'hello' then move on. Tea and cakes at Honey St before the extra crew wended their way homeward, leaving us with a quiet evening on board, eschewing the delights of the pub on account of the somewhat celebratory day we'd had.
