We are still chugging along the K&A, but today have gone approx nowhere [except by bus] - still moored just above Lock 50
Rainy morning so I took the bus to Trowbridge to get a new inverter, Hilperton Marina having been identified as the nearest source. I picked up the box they'd set aside for me, walked back into town to catch the bus to return to Devizes but, sitting at the bus stop, found they'd accidentally sold me a 230v to 12v device. Not much use. Phoned them and they promtly send a van to pick me up from the bus stop, found me a rather grander inverter than I'd set out to buy, sold it to me at a substantial discount and ferried me back to the bus stop. All this on hire fleet change round day. Seemed fair enough. I spent the afternoon installing the thing and, as that went well, doing the slightly overdue engine service. We'd intended to pootle on eastwards but were inveigled into the nearby pub [The Artichoke] by the Aussies on the next boat so I am posting this from exactly where we were last night, but slightly less sober.
