Hi, I think everybody who installs care2x sooner or later will need some sort of reporting. Yet, there is no reporting mechanism in care2x. Everybody is programmatically building his or her own reports, probably some reports are or will be almost the same. (raise your finger if you have Registrations per Month reports) Now, if there would be one reporting engine in (or besides) care2x which would be able to generate reports. What would the requirements of such a piece of software be? Just to start that thread off, some ideas: - It should be able to generate reports in different formats: html, pdf, xml, csv, tab delimited - It should be templatable, so you can re-use the formatting in different reports - It should be able to produce 'Lists', but also Charts - It should be able to handle the following entities by default, but be extensible for future or custom modules: - Patient - Departments - Appointments - Admission - Requests - Doctors - Nurses - Wards - OP Rooms - Laboratory/Blood Bank - Tests - Pharmacy - Pharmacy Product - Medical Depot - Medical Depot Product - Of these entities the relation to other entities should be requestable where applicable (Pharmacy Products per Department, Appointment per Patient, Nurses per Doctor etc) - All reports should be 'filterable' on all information available in the Entities. (A report about Admissions per Month for the Oncology Department for 2004) - It should be a non-programmers task to define new Reports. - It should be a non-programmers task to run Reports. - The Reporting Engine only creates reports for day to day data. If you want to do real agregation of data, you would need to use DHIS. My question: what else should care2x report generator be able to do? Currently, one hospital is using and we are introducing to another and another hospitals. The hospital "Medical Record Officer", request several reports. So, I am planning to develop summary reports for OPD, as well as Ward patients. So, what will you recommend?
