Hi, I cannot say about the programs that are best to generate the reports. But from the users point of view we need different type of tools. For us there should be some regular fixed reports. These are often different in different hospitals. For that puprose there is need for a report generator, which would be used by those who implement Care2x and support the hospital. These background tools can be also more complex as long as they can generate simple frontend for people who can only browse.
We also need some reports where enduser has some filters and play little bit with available data. In the Italian Olympic Commitee version they have inone report filter for time, department and doctor. There could be age, sex, service items, supplies items etc filters. Here we need a good report generator which the support people can use to make a simple self explanatory front end. On the third level we need a more advance reporting tool, which could be used by well trained endusers. That tools should analyze the database in manay ways. We have thought that for this purpose DHIS would be the best one and therefore we hope co-operaton between DHIS and Care2x developes will become closer. For those who do not know DHIS: it has been developed during the last 10 years in multinational co-operation. It is free and open source. Recently they have migrated to opens source programming tools as well.
