hmmm...why you cant point.

my guess...you are strapping in the genoa before you
get up to your polars.

Are you shifting gears, that is, putting enough power into your headsail
to get you to the speed you want before you flatten it out and try to
point?

The number one reason for not being able to point is lack of
boat speed, followed closely by not keeping the boat flat.

Get your speed up and tell your crew that by the end of the
race their butts oughta look like a phillips head screw...then
you should be able to point with the rest o the fleet.

as far as tension on your caps...when a local guy from up
here won C27 high point (as opposed to your local guy down there,
chrisd) he said he loosened his rig "to the point where it appeared
dangerous." We have it pretty light here, but I'd try to match your
rig tension to whatever pressure you are expecting even if it means
retuning every race.
