you could just put a pully and cleat back there then after a tack lock the
wheel and then finish setting the jib I have seen this on other boats but never
tried it myself.

I am looking for an easy solution to single hand my 27. I am outfitted with a
wheel which I love but it creates a problem in getting to the jib winches that
are forward of the wheel. Every time I tack, I have to fight to get past the
wheel to winch in the jib. I was thinking about moving the winches back so that
I can get to them easily but I does not look like there is enough surface to
mount them with out making some sort of bracket. Has anyone ever done this or
created any kind of alternative system to haul in the Jib from the back of the
cockpit
