Yes, I was thinking about doing something like that. I may consider replacing 
the single block on the jib track with a double block and run back to a single 
block somewhere on top of the gunwale behind the wheel. There is a cleat 
already there

you could just put a pully and cleat back there then after a tack lock the 
wheel and then finish setting the jib I have seen this on other boats but never 
tried it myself.

I am looking for an easy solution to single hand my 27. I am outfitted with a 
wheel which I love but it creates a problem in getting to the jib winches that 
are forward of the wheel. Every time I tack, I have to fight to get past the 
wheel to winch in the jib. I was thinking about moving the winches back so that 
I can get to them easily but I does not look like there is enough surface to 
mount them with out making some sort of bracket. Has anyone ever done this or 
created any kind of alternative system to haul in the Jib from the back of the 
cockpit
