Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     4/5: A FOS GREAT EGRET was seen at the Montezuma Audubon Center.
     4/6: Slightly out of the complex, a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was spotted in 
the swampy area on Armitage Road. A FOS PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen in the 
cornfield on VanDyne Spoor Road.  15 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 3 LESSER YELLOWLEGS 
and 3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were spotted on Carncross Road. These were also first 
of season birds. Later in the day the number of Greater Yellowlegs was put at 
23.
     4/8: 4 FOS DUNLIN were seen on the Wildlife drive along with GREATER 
YELLOWLEGS.


Derby Hill
------------
  
      A good week on The Hill with two days over 1,000 birds. Saturday’s count 
was 3,552 with 7 GOLDEN EAGLES. TURKEY VULTURES still make up the bulk of the 
birds. 4/1 and 4/4 both had 2 SANDHILL CRANES. Another BARN SWALLOW was also 
seen on 4/1.


Oswego County
------------

     4/6: An ICELAND GULL was seen on the beaver pond at the Amboy 4-H center.
     4/8: The first day of multiple migrants at the Phillips Point Lakewatch on 
the north shore of Oneida Lake. 9 species were counted with FOS CASPIAN TERNS 
in the count.


Oneida County
------------

     4/7: A FOS EASTERN TOWHEE was seen on Sidecut Road in the Town of Verona. 
A rare away from Derby GOLDEN EAGLE was seen and photographed on Webster Hill 
Road in the Town of Western.


Onondaga County
------------

     4/8: 4 FOS SAVANNAH SPARROWS were seen on Banner Road in Tully.
