Are we going to miss anything by having used g77-3.3 rather than gfortran
installing ccp4-6.0? We built it simply by
./configure linux && make && make install

there were no obvious error messages --- since as far as I understand the
mac-intels are no new architecture, should gcc-3.x not build even with the
new macs? If so, I do not understand all the trouble
people seem to have installing ccp4-6.0, and I am worried we might miss
anything pretty or precious by not using gfortran!?
