Great!

I was feeling like a man on Mars for still using LaTeX. Thanks, buddy,

can't help myself today - this will qualify as a rant/advocacy post:

On Wed, 19 Apr 2006,

write papers

latex

or develop posters

latex

cv? latex.
grants? pdflatex->Acrobat (may need to pay)
presentations?  pdflatex->Adobe reader.
movies? pdflatex->Adobe reader->link-out->Firefox.
boss wants that other format? latex2rtf

sure, you might have to mess around with it - is it any different with the other
stuff? is the time you spend messing around with other stuff paying you back?

latex is installed by default on most (all?) *nix.

latex is not a trick to make one buy the Lamport or Knuth books, which are
readily available in many .edu libraries. they are good anyways.

detailed, free, customizable latex stuff is readily located with google.
