Dear M. Schwartz,

I had a similar problem with an FX560, and the cause was nvidia linux drivers: the new one (1.0-8762) doesn't work in blueline stereo (stereographics). And new quadro fx graphic cards just work with this driver... Nvidia is supposed to repair this bug (I reported it last may) and RealD doesn't do anything about it (they say it's nvidia's problem). Since then, stereo doesn't work on my computer (hopefully, I have an other one!). There's a new driver since several weeks (1.0-8774), but I haven't tried it yet...

If you want to work under linux, with an nvidia graphic card and blueline stereo, choose a card that works with the 1.0-8178 driver. And by the way, this driver doesn't compile on newest kernels... so be careful in this maze!

I you have further information, please send it on this list!

Julien

Subject: [ccp4bb]: Stereo / nVIDIA Quadro FX550
Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2006 16:44:14 -0400

Dear all,

I am having trouble setting up stereo on a linux machine (RHEL 4) with an nVIDIA Quadro FX550 graphics card. According to REAL D the card should be able to do stereo (using an emitter with StereoEnabler, since it does not have a 3-pin mini-DIN plug). My monitor (SGI 24inch widescreen GDM-FW9011) shows the interlaced stereo image but the emitter does not properly produce a signal. The red LED of the emitter occasionally lights up, but does not stay lit. I tried various screen resolutions / refresh rate settings, none work.

If anyone out there is running stereo on this card or another nVIDIA Quadro card without 3-pin mini-DIN I would be very curious to take a look at the working /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

Thank you,
Thomas.
