Hello Guys! First: thanks for all of the hard work to make the CDE usable on modern platforms. I really appreciate it.
I just like to start a thread about the usability problems, because i think if we collect this problems, then if somebody have time, can easily found this thread, and hopefully can solve some of this list. C'mon guys, lets look our problems! :) - DTCM / Calendar: cannot compile it. Ok, actually this is not an usability thing. "undefined reference to `registerrpc' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [dtcm] Error 1" - Create Action : this program can create and open the Actions. But if You open an action, and change it, it cannot save, but it will make a new action in the Home Folder. Why can't change the opened Action? - Man Page Viewer : i don't use it, but looks handy, and like all of the CDE apps, it also can't use the mouse scroll wheel. - Terminal : I like it, but it is useless -for me- without mouse wheel support. It just make me angry. - Dtlogin : I like to use this, but if i set it to the default display manager, then if i try to reboot or shutdown the computer, the screen goes black, then the dtlogin come back, thats why i need to use the lightdm. I think, this is a bug somewhere with the runlevels, but i'm not a linux hacker, to dig it deeper, sorry. I like to see a Shutdown/reboot button also in the dtlogin panel. - File Manager : Scroll wheel support! Maybe drag-n-drop support for gtk apps? - Session support : This is the craziest thing in the whole CDE. At login it can open all the programs, what i used last time. It works, but it cannot put back my programs to the workspace, what i specified last time. I need always put all of them back. I tried to use this : xterm -xrm "*workspaceList: ws3", but the CDE open the xterm always on the first workspace. I don't know why, but the CDE starts always ~5-6 instance of Skype at login. I saved a Home session, but it just didn't works. I get back the last session. - Icon support: i'd like to see better icon support, with more format, not just xpm and xbm. I hate to create icons for the CDE. - Panel : For the love of God, please, digital clock! Maybe can we get smaller icons in the Panel? Thats all for now. What do You think about it?
