The problem is linux kernel. With 2.4/5 ide-scsi everything is perfect,
with 2.5 ide-cd it doesn't work although my acer cd writer works
perfectly well.

Yes, exactly. I didn't report that because I know it's not a problem of
cdrecord. A more detailed report went to linux-kernel ML.
