No, you were referring to some place on my page that [allegedly] stated that cdrecord-ProDVD doesn't support DVD+. I wondered where? And I failed to find such place where it actually says that "cdrecord-ProDVD does not support DVD+." Closest place I could identify was question number 2 of the question/answer section where it was *implied*, but not actually *spelled*. > >download and deploy dvd+rw-tools. I admit that I *implied* that not even > >cdrecord-ProDVD supports DVD+ [which was perfectly true for the moment > >the paragraph in question was revised last time]. Yes, it was *implied*, > >but not actually *stated*/*spelled*, by providing a link to > >cdrecord-ProDVD download catalog. But I can't admit that the core > >statement, cdrecord [as bundled with all Linux distributions and > >available in source form] lacking support for DVD+ (as well as DVD- for > >that matter), no longer holds true. Therefore to minimize the confusion, > > I don't understand what you mean here. Note [and respect!] that most content of my page is based upon and formed after real-life user questions. Behind every line of the section in question and major part of tutorial stands a real person with a practical question/problem. And once again. Questions/answers section in particular targets less experienced [let's say RedHat] users who can find cdrecord [as well as dvdrecord in RedHat case] on their $PATH right after installation. And here is a trivial and practical question! Can they use that cdrecord [or dvdrecord for that matter] to burn DVD? > Well, I have no right to request you to keep the link, but if you mention > cdrecord at all, please be correct and mention that it supports CD/DVD-/DVD+ Explaining what cdrecord supports is your job, not mine. The only thing I can find myself doing is answering "How dvd+rw-tools are different from cdrecord-ProDVD?" upon *public request*. Therefore the question to the public! Guys! Should I add a new question, "How dvd+rw-tools are different from cdrecord-ProDVD" to question/answers section on page, http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/linux/DVD+RW/, or is the page sufficiently complete as it is? And once you answer, can you consider to volunteer to draft an answer as well (my time is rather tight:-)? > Also note: there is only one cdrecord source tree! You must be referring to the fact that you yourself make no distinction between cdrecord and cdrecord-ProDVD. Wasn't it discussed already? Public does not seem to share your viewpoint and does not experience cdrecord and cdrecord-ProDVD as the same program. Neither do I...
