What would affect me would be setting the mail servers to support the DUL
list. Since I use my box as an SMTP server on a dial up connection to send
mail from home (our mail server won't relay for me with a BellSouth.net IP
address), I would be prevented from sending mail to the HoF server by the
DUL list.
If I am mis-reading the purpose of that list, I apologize.

I am not sure how this affects you, if Michael turns relaying off at
houseoffusion.com. I am in a similar situation with my various accounts.
The issue here is to prevent the mail server at houseoffusion.com from
relaying to other domains. Messages addressed to any of the
*@houseoffusion.com lists, would be delivered properly, because they are
"local delivery" in the eyes of the mail server. Unless you are using the
houseoffusion.com mail server as the SMTP server for your accounts this
should not be a problem. If you are, that is completely different story.

I have a comment on this. This would block me half of the time. Since I
use several different account (home, work, spam killing, research, etc.) I
use a mail deamon on my personal box (running Win 2K Advanced Server).

I am at work, I can use my workmail server since it is set up to relay for
specific IP addresses. However, at home, I must use my own box to ensure
that I can send mail on all of my accounts from inside a single mail
client.
Please don't get me wrong, I agree that we need to do something about
spammers, but don't do something that will kill Joe User.

a DSL account, which I always take great joy in getting terminated, since
getting another broadband account is no simple matter.
Next, see if your mail server supports the RBL DUL list. This will block
mail being sent directly from dial-up accounts, instead of being sent
through an ISP's mail servers.
