Gosh...that party was cool :)
I'm still on an adrenaline rush
hee hee .

I've figured CFs problem..and I can sum it up in one word: MARKETING.

They aren't doing enough to market the product to the audience that they
really need to reach..that audience is NOT developers.

It is the owners of the Fortune 500 companies, it is the people that RUN
businesses...
They need to reach the CLIENTS of the developers...

So that when you go to a client and say," We will develop your site in
Coldfusion..." They've heard the term before...so it has the same effect as
saying," We Will develop your site using .asp..or Java..".

Right now I'm sure all it does is raise eyebrows and have people thing,"
You're going to do my site in what?Coldfusion? What the hell is that?"

They've been aiming at the wrong market I believe.
If the CLIENTS are already sold on the technology, then THEY will request
the use of the technology, or at least throw out," So...how about doing it
with Coldfusion?"..what Manager/Developer, who isn't already sold on CF,
could dismiss that?

.......
*wiggles*
I feel so perspicacious now!!

I'm beginning to suspect some dirty dealings somewhere, there seems to be a
lot of anti CF stuff going around at the moment and it seems to be
coordinated.

I actually had someone who claims to be a senior consultant tell me the
other day that they would never use CF as it used its own database and they
needed to use Oracle! This isn't the first time I have heard total rubbish
like this, and it always seems to come from people who attend MS seminars on
a regular basis...
