Being someone without a degree on this list (the Creative Director has a
chemistry degree - what does that say?), I have to say that we have a very
open employment policy... if we think someone will be good at the job and we
like them, we employ them - then if they don't work out during the
probation, they leave...
We have 2 guys with CS degrees, one at a higher standard than the other, but
only the stuff they learned outside of University has come in useful (own
websites etc.)
The strangest thing is that I was chatting with a friend's sister who is
currently at Uni, she EXPECTS to leave there and walk into a 50k p/a job
(that's $75k in Yank monies)... it doesn't matter how she passes according
to her, she just expects it...
Oh, and even though I've got no CS degree (but with 5+ years in the Internet
business, 10+ years in programming, 13+ years IT) I still get head-hunted...
people don't quite understand that I own part of the company, so why would I
want to walk away from everything I've built in the last 3 and a half
years... head-hunters believe that money cures all problems...
