first of all, sure you can. if the US wanted to flatten Afghanistan there
really wouldn't be much anyone could do unless the rest of the world wanted
to stand up against the US..
What I meant by that is that some one will need to be blamed. I don't doubt
evidence will be enough, but if it's not, well like I said the US needs to
be mad at some one so some one will need to be fingered, Bin Laden will
probly be the one even if he really was not involved.
That's just the way it will probably work out.

If it's decided?? By who and on what grounds?? You can't decide that
someone is responsible without proof. You can't just walk into a country
and flatten it on a hunch!

I guess this depends on how the US handle the situation. If they "decide"
that Bin Laden is responsible, without being 110% certain, then I fear a lot
of other countries will step in and denounce the action taken by the US.
And wouldn't that then be lowering the US to the same level as the people
responsible.
>From the news we have here, it feels like a lot of blame is being laid on
Bin Laden, but on what grounds?? He may have tried in the past, but there
are no guarantees this wasn't a completely unrelated incident, like
Oklahoma. I'm not making excuses for Bin Laden, I just believe that the
finger can't be pointed based on assumptions.
There could be any number of groups responsible... A country cannot be
destroyed, and innocent lives lost, without knowing who committed this
atrocious act.
Personally, I think the US should keep fingers off the triggers until they
know EXACTLY who is responsible, and then deal with them accordingly. If
you walk in and avenge this act out of anger then it is going to reflect
badly on the US, and you are opening up for an escalating situation of
revenge for the revenge.
