I think he's right John, even though I sympathize with your struggle :) But how can it legally be murder to deliberately have an abortion and not manslaughter let's say to recklessly cause a miscarriage? Trying to think of a good example that most people would think is wrong. Not really succeeding, but let's say the mother was clearly reckless and her behavior clearly caused the end of the pregnancy. It's only a shade of grey from abortion.

The problem is that then you are only yet another shade of grey from saying that if a woman is prematurely dilated at oh... four months... she should go to jail if she cannot stay in bed for the next five months. What if she has other children? Sure, some poeple have family who can help. And some people don't. So what about that woman?
