I disliked Bush since he was governor of Texas. At the time I was
working on a contract assessing educational programs. I had the
chance to go through several very poor school districts in Dallas and
Houston. What I saw shamed me. These districts had schools that would
not have been out of place in a third world country like Somalia or
Botswanna. When I talked with the administators and teachers one
common theme stood out. Most of them blamed the conditions of their
schools on the large scale cuts in state level educational funding
that was instituted by Bush.
I dislike Bush for his hypocracy and for his politicization of the NIH
and FDA. I dislike him for his office ordering the NIH to put false
information on their web site about the link between breast cancer and
abortion - btw according to a recent JAMA editorial, there is no link
whatsoever.
I dislike Bush for his prevarication and lies. He was dishonest about
his service record, his cocaine use and his alcoholism. I dislike the
man for his absolutism and his singlehandedly blowing any good will
the rest of this world had toward this country. I dislike the man
because of his destroying the first real federal surplus in
generations and saddling us with the largest government deficit ever.
I dislike the man because of his efforts to destroy human rights and
freedoms this country has enjoyed.
Shall I go on? In a nutshell I dislike his policies, his character and
his actions. While I cannot day what should be done with the man, I
can say I sincerely hope he is properly tossed out of office next
November, and a short time later he be tried for war crimes in the
Hague.
