Good post Angel, and i can't dispute your points.  It would be nice if we could fight the source of the problem though instead of the symptoms. Namely, remove the people in the companies that would do the sort of things you were talking about.

Maybe affirmative action is a necessary "evil", but hopefully its temporary, because it really only fights the symptoms, not the problem.

As far as I am reading it, the post says that the Environment in the United
States is such that a non -white person needs the help of Affirmative action to
  advance in the work place.

If they fought it on their own without Affirmative Action's help, they would not
achieve on their own merit the way a white person would.

  Sad indeed.

While things have gotten better in the US, the majority of my non - white US
friends all do encounter racism and do firmly believe that were it not for the
civil rights movement and the fact that a lot of major US Corporations feel they
HAVE to include non-whites on their payroll or face the wrath of
anti-discrimination laws, they wouldn't hire non - whites over whites regardless
of qualification or merit. And in many instances when the system can be avoided
or worked around, whites are advanced before non -whites. This is the anecdotal
  evidence I have.

I know you don't need me to post the statistics that shows the disparity of
income and job status of non whites versus whites in the American workplace to
provide hard numbers. It's gotten better, but it certainly has not reached a
point of equilibrium where anti discrimination laws and affirmative action is no
  longer needed.
