are promoted according to merit,there will be a point at which the top levels of
companies have racially mixed management with equal say in the running of the
company. Therefore, all things being equal, there would be less discrimination
(unless people choose to discriminate against their own race).
I think this is where America is heading.
There will be a time when Affirmative Action is not needed.
But I do not believe that this will require repealing or even changing the laws.
The demographics of the workplace and education itself, is what will make the
laws superfluous.

Good post Angel, and i can't dispute your points. It would be nice if we could
fight the source of the problem though instead of the symptoms. Namely, remove
the people in the companies that would do the sort of things you were talking
about.
Maybe affirmative action is a necessary "evil", but hopefully its temporary,
because it really only fights the symptoms, not the problem.
