Go to your local vet - ask for options.
They also sell plastic claw covers you can glue onto your cat's claws.
But it takes them awhile to get used to them and you need to be prepared
to continually replaced chewed off ones. Another option is a spray you
can use to keep them away from the furniture.
Lots of options - but talk to a vet :)
