How old is the cat?

Our current cat has her claws, because I do agree with what everyone
here has said. But cat claws and leather furniture just don't mix.

Growing up, our cats were declawed. My parents had been against it
until a certain infant (me) reached out to grab a cat and got a face
full of claws. The cats lived full and happy lives even without their
claws. They still won fights and one of them would even catch birds
out of mid-air.

Now that I have my own cat, and I don't have kids to get clawed, we've
decided to keep the claws. But it means we don't get leather
furniture.
