At this late date, I think it can only negatively influence opinion.
Positive buzz on issues takes longer to percolate, but a knee-jerk
negative reaction about the blocking could spread like wildfire
through the no-borders Internet. It probably won't make front page
headlines in the media, but I'd put money on it showing up on more
than a few blogs.

Matt's comment about the foreign stationed troops probably has more
weight. I don't know though how much that works through regional
carriers vs. .mil.
