Diplomacy 101 is to separate people from a symbol of stagnation and war and try to bind them to a bright future. As long as the Palestinians revere Arafat, his reign of terror will continue. He will always be exactly what he's becoming (and already is to at least one group), the holy martyr who symbolizes the destruction of Israel. The people have to look forward and saying that Arafat was right only binds them to the past. Cut the binds to him by vilifying him properly and promote peace. That's diplomacy. Looking forward.
