Speaking truth about Arafat's past is forcing? Wow, truth has sure changed from when I was a kid. By putting forth Arafat as a hero and martyr your not breeding dignity or respect, your breeding the same hatred and disrespect that he's always stood for. To allow the media and/or politicians to gloss over his evil is to basically say that it was all ok and no one cares. "Kill some schoolchildren? It's ok because Arafat did it and no one complained when he died. Hijack planes? Well, no one complained so its as if it never happened. Yes, I learned something from Arafat. Kill the Jews and no one will complain when your dead. Let me go kill some now." That's what's being taught. Hide the truth now and there will not be 3 or 4 generations. There will be more suicide bombers in his name, more bloodshed and more chaos. All because the 'great hero of his people' did it first and no one mentioned it when he died.
As I've said before and will say again, your ideas are nice and all but have nothing to do with the political and cultural reality that is the middle east.
